Yoga
Here at New Directions we have started doing yoga about once a month as a Saturday activity. Yoga is not only great for building strength and flexibility but also helps ease anxiety and calm the mind. It also helps those who practice regularly to develop life skills such as listening and following directions. Yoga is beneficial to the mind, body and spirit.
Rock Climbing
New Directions has done indoor rock climbing a couple of times so far and the students who have gone love it. Rock climbing can help students build confidence and overcome fears as well as give them a great workout. Rock climbing is a fun, inexpensive way to try something new.
The Everglades
New Directions took a trip down to the Everglades and experienced an air-boat tour through the swamp with Billy Swamp Safari Tour. Afterwards, students were treated to a live, alligator demonstration. |
